Posted on: 05/03/2010
On April 30th, 2010 the McNeil Consumer Healthcare issued a news release stating that in consultation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), they are voluntarily recalling all lots that have not yet expired of certain over-the-counter (OTC) Children’s and Infants’ liquid products manufactured in the United States. These products include Children’s and Infants’ Tylenol, Motrin, Zyrtec, and Benadryl.
According to the news release this voluntary recall is being initiated because some of these products may not meet required quality standards. They do state that the recall is not being undertaken on the basis of adverse medical events, however, as a precautionary measure, parents and caregivers should not administer these products to their children.
